Should I Write NATA or JEE B.Arch?

The difference between the two exams is that, JEE gives you the opportunity to apply to IITs and NITs,(govt. Funded colleges) , NATA gives you the opportunity to register  yourself as a certified architect on the completion of course, hence holding higher value if you consider architecture as your calling.

The students generally get confused with the choice of exams they need to write and the consequences of each score sheet they get.

In order to help the students clear the confusion of choice between ‘a’ and ‘b’ one has to delve into the question, why this and why not that.

While NATA is essentially the game changer for architecture applicants across the country, JEE Mains is also a preferred choice since it gets them into centrally funded institutes. Hence one of the reasons of ’b’ over ‘a’ is the same as choosing state level exam over national level. This doesn’t change the fact that NATA is also a National Level exam, and that it too leads you to distinguished institutes.

Another thing that the students should ponder upon is that there is a difference in the paper patterns while NATA is a two sectioned test (online and offline), JEE has three sections all offline. This means that the student gets the liberty to choose and answer any question anytime during the exam while attempting JEE and doesn’t have it while attempting NATA.

Also, the NATA syllabus includes the history and current ideas of structures, monuments, logos, and technical topics related to architecture, JEE Mains tests Maths at a slightly higher level (same as JEE paper 1).

Thus the preparation for the two different exams would be different to a certain point.

With this the student is left with the option, should I write JEE Mains paper 2 or NATA?
