Half the battle of preparing for a competitive exam lies in fixing a timetable and sticking to it religiously. The same goes for

the UCEED, time management is crucial in  terms of preparing for the exam and for writing the exam. Here are some tips to use your time wisely keeping these two aspects in mind:

  • Start preparing well in advance, at least 6 months - a year before the exam. Sections within the exam, such as the GK section and sections that require creative and observational skills cannot be prepared for in a month or two. It requires daily research and conditioning.

  • The ability to write the paper in good time, comes from constant practice and a thorough understanding of the paper. Refer to the UCEED brochure to understand the syllabus and the exam pattern. Make use of the question bank and previous papers available at DQ Edge- as UCEED is purely computer based, practicing the paper via the system is extremely helpful when writing the actual exam.

  • It is also important to understand your weaknesses and strengths and tailor your preparation schedule accordingly. Certain concepts require more practice as compared to just a theoretical idea of it, for example Geometrical exercises ( like rearranging shapes from their 3D form to their 2D forms), that feature heavily in the paper as well.

  • Section C will include negative marking hence be careful with the questions you choose to answer. Do not waste time on questions you do not know in this section and instead focus on questions in other sections that you are sure of.
