Nitte School of Architecture Planning and Design (NSAPD) was established in 2016 under the aegis of the Nitte Education Trust, founded in 1979. We offer undergraduate programs in Architecture, Planning, and Design (UI/UX Design, Product Design, Communication Design). These programs are approved by the Government of Karnataka (GoK), the Council of Architecture (COA), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Institute of Town Planners (ITP), and are affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). In the academic year 2024-25, we are excited to launch our M.Plan (Masters in Urban and Regional Planning) program. A Research Center was established in 2021 to further enhance our academic and research capabilities.

NSAPD is the only institution to offer the B. Plan and B.Design program in Bangalore, Karnataka, which is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and

affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University.

NSAPD is associated with the Indian Institute of Architects and is the first of its kind to have an IIA NSAPD student’s chapter.
We are affiliated with Indian Green Building Council and have an IGBC Nitte SAPD students chapter. NSAPD is also tied up with GEM Assocham.
NSAPD is recognised as the nodal Centre for CEGR (Centre for Education Growth and Research Activity) in Karnataka State.

Eligibility

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch):

No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 percent. Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50 per cent.
Marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 per cent. marks in aggregate.
The candidates must have passed the mandatory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level or compulsory subject of Mathematics at 10+3 Diploma level. A candidate with valid NATA -2024 score.

Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan):

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Standard examination obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer Science.
In case of Karnataka SC, ST and OBC candidates, the minimum aggregate percentage shall be 40%.

Bachelor of Design (B.Design):

Passed 10+2 examination, obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of Karnataka candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination OR Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.

Masters of Planning (M.Plan):

A Candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years / semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.E. / M.Tech / M. Arch courses (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC. ST and Category-I candidates. Reservation and concession in aggregate percentage is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates.
Desirable: PGCET/ GATE

Course wise Eligibility: B.Plan or B. Arch or B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering/Building Technology/Construction Technology/Environmental Engineering or M.A/M.Sc (Geography).

Plumbing Lab - In association with NMIT.Students explore the complexities of plumbing systems and water management using cutting-edge tools and equipment. Through practical experimentation, they develop a deep understanding of water distribution, drainage, and fixture installation.
Material Lab - The lab has a curated collection of industry-grade materials, ranging from traditional to modern building construction and craft materials. Students also have access to manuals and textbooks to augment their knowledge.
Work environment: We share the campus facilities with Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology. This ensures that students are in a collaborative space to learn and work with students from other branches of engineering and management.
Transportation: We have a good transportation facility. Our buses cover around 5000 km/day reaching out to students from all the corners of the city.
Hostel: We have good hostel facilities supported by a hygienic mess for both boys and girls separately. Additional to this we also have food courts, ATMs & bank facilities within our campus.

All our faculties are qualified from top-notch universities and are working for more than 5 years with NSAPD. Our faculties have UG/PG from IITs, IISc-Bengaluru, NITs, SPA’s, CEPT Ahmedabad, Anna University, Chennai, and International Universities like Carnell Univ., Penn State Univ., Univ. Of Denver, and Post Doctorate from UC Berkeley.We provide a platform with access to significant resources in terms of professional expertise, tech training, workshops etc. which goes a long way in the holistic development of a design professional.

We ensure industry readiness through our initiatives like Collaborative Incubation Cell (C.I.C) which gives real-time projects to students to work on. This gives them a fair understanding of the challenges in business during their undergraduate years.
We have an IIA NITTE SAP STUDENTS CENTER which is the first of its kind and an IGBC Nitte SPE students’ chapter in association with NMIT, Bangalore. These tie-ups go a long way in giving students opportunities and exposure.
