Established in 1979, Full Sail University is a privately-owned for-profit educational institution in Florida.

It was founded as a recording studio called Full Sail Productions.

In 1980, the studio was shifted to Florida and started offering several video and film-making courses.

Formerly based in the city of Dayton, the campus was shifted to Winter Park in the year 1989.

The university has accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

The university campus is located in Winter Park, Florida, just outside of Orlando.

Spread over a 210-acre area, the campus features a Hollywood-style film backlot, spacious classrooms, state-of-the-art soundstages, and 110 plus studios and labs.

The campus also features The Fortress, an 11,200-square-foot esports platform that can accommodate about 500 spectators.

Full Sail University does not offer housing facilities on the campus.

It has around 30 apartment complexes located within a walking distance.

Various movie theatres, concert halls, music and sports venues, museums, parody clubs, shopping centers, and several nightlife options are within an easy reach from the campus.

World's top theme park capitals the Walt Disney World, Sea World Orlando and Universal Orlando are within 48 km of the campus.

Full Sail University offers a plethora of associate, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

The programs are mainly focused on media and entertainment-related studies such as media communication, film production, audio creation, animation, technology, and video game design.

It also offers a small range of courses in games, sports, and business. The university has also developed a VR classroom app called Rumii in partnership with Doghead Simulations.

The app facilitates undergraduates to take online lessons on different subjects.

With theoretical lessons and practical, the university aims at providing real-world industry experience and devising creative problem-solving systems.

The university has a partnership with WWE, which provides students with opportunities to produce WWE NXT tapings and contributes to enormous scholarship funds for students.

ESPN and Wargaming are the other two partners of the university.

The International Student Society promotes community learning and provides opportunities for students to learn and celebrate diverse cultures and traditions.

It manages the Alumni Ambassador Program and ISS Mentorship Program and organizes several events and workshops on the campus.

At present, the institution has more than 19,000 students and 2,060 full-time equivalent employees.

Full Sail University has many distinguished alumni who are remarkably successful and big names in their fields today. Some notable names in the alumni list include Michael Barber (Musician and Entrepreneur), Adam Wingard (Director, Editor, and Cinematographer), Corrin Campbell (Singer), Sebastian Krys (Audio Engineer), Deraj (American Hip-Hop Musician), Chad Crawford (TV Presenter), Ryan Connolly (Filmmaker and Presenter), Collie Buddz (Singer), Mohammad Alavi (Famous Video Game Developer), Ashish Manchanda (Entertainment Entrepreneur), Steven C. The university has designed a Hall of Fame to recognize and honor their accomplishments.
