NATA Entrance exam is divided into two main segments:

Part A is an online exam whereas part B is an offline test. Part A, Maths would test your concepts learnt in class 11 and 12, (level of questions may be at par with JEE Mains paper 1). The general aptitude evaluates your visualization skills, perception knowledge, analytical and mathematical reasoning and general awareness of the architecture of the past and present.

The online section for the NATA exam hence requires you to practice as many test papers as possible, so that you are thorough with the syllabus, test structure as well as know what topics may require special attention.

DQ Labs, in order to spearhead your preparations with inputs from guides has created online learning platform, DQ Edge; an online platform to learn and achieve more. It is the one stop solution to your problems as the mock test results come with insights from the faculty and is modified according to the learner’s level of performance.

Each result would show different insights according to learners’ performance, and the insights are unique for each student as they are artificially generated.

Tips for Part A

Coming straight from the horse’s mouth, we have some tips for you to prepare for the maths section:

  1. Have Patience. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither would you be able to ace maths section in one day. Have faith and work continuously on topics, you are weak in (as suggested at DQ Edge after your NATA mock test).
  2. Understand the topics, have solid basics. The questions may seem fancy or beyond your comprehensive levels, but if you have a solid foundation, you’ll be able to crack any problem.
  3. There are no ‘tough problems’ but fancy wordings. The toughest of questions would seem easy if you find the root and what the question essentially asks you.
  4. It is imperative to practice from NATA previous year papers, and more than that, it is advised that you solve as many NATA mock tests as provided by DQ Edge, to help you pinpoint your weak and strong points.
  5. Read from the DQ Labs’ Books (NATA Blue Print), for further preparation we at DQ Labs, suggest reading through our online modules at DQ Edge.
  6. Never target the time limit, rather focus on solving at least 60% of the problems correctly. You may solve lesser questions but they should be correct, as even though NATA exam has no negative scoring, in cases of tie the position would be awarded to the participant with lesser number of incorrect questions.
  7. Important topics for study are Calculus, Algebra, Probability 2D and 3D co-ordinate geometry.

Tips for Part 2

  1. Sketching is the key, drawing is an essential skill needed. Keep nourishing your sketching skills by practicing (anything you like) as much as you can because both the papers are equally important. Start with the simple ones and then slowly move towards the tough ones while practicing. Draw vivid designs so that you will be used to it and will make your drawing paper easier.
  2. Trying using eraser as less as you can while sketching as this will make your lines more bold and confident.
  3. Emphasize on the detailing part like on the human figure and something with a live expression etc.
  4. Try to learn the different styles of lettering and practice them till they become handy.

You can also join our NATA crash course for a quick trip through the syllabus. We at DQ Labs ensure that the last 15 days are well utilized for the NATA Exam preparation and not a single second is wasted on either side.
